Born in 2008 to parents Landon Starler and Holly Fairfax, Sylvia spent little time in her native England before her parents emigrated to the United States. She grew up in Boston, enjoying a fairly normal (if well-off) upbringing.

Her vocal and musical abilities garnered her much praise early in life. She blossomed in her early teens, becoming a YouTube sensation, and enjoying fame and popularity at Boston Latin School. She graduated on a high note, seeming to have the world at her feet.

After high school, she moved to England to attend Oxford University in pursuit of a Psychology degree. Her online activity and songwriting faded, as she more and more pursued an ambitious career. In 2029, she suspended her studies to accept a job offer from Dimond Research Institute, a result of some exceptional papers she published as an undergraduate. She was well-compensated, and apparently working on projects of intense interest and secrecy, when she dropped out of the public eye for a time.

She has since returned to Boston, and remains technically employed by Dimond, though months into a sabbatical. She has, of late, renewed her interest in music, now focusing on small venues, writing deeper and more introspective songs, whose melodies reflect the same. All who knew her previously have noted a tremendous change in her demeanor and personality. In truth, something changed her at Dimond, and opened her to possibilites she had never imagined...

Sylvia has thus far kept her psychic abilities concealed from her employers (and GSEC); if she hadn't, they would note her as a Class V talent, with the potential to become extremely dangerous. She has only newly discovered her abilities, and does not yet understand their current scope, let alone their potential. She has isolated a few reliable techniques:

In addition to her supernatural abilities, Sylvia possesses a gifted mind, and has an excellent natural intution for psychology.
